Room 214's Enrichment Program

In Room 214 we believe that chess is a game that can help students in all areas of life.  Learning to play chess increases motivation, patience, delayed-gratification, critical thinking, sportsmanship, gratitude, and focus.  We take every Friday in 4th and 5th Grade to play chess for one period.  I teach students a new tactic or strategy once they learn how the pieces move and we try to improve our play.
